Dr. Alwyn Ross
Alwyn graduated with a Ph.D. in Geophysics from Durham University in 1996 and spent 25 years working in the Oil and Gas Industry, attaining a senior-level management position. Having always had an interest in property Alwyn started investing in buy-to-let properties in 2012 as a means to accelerate professional retirement. This personal portfolio has grown steadily and currently consists of 7 BTL's and 1 holiday let, On leaving the oil industry, Alwyn decided to undertake property investment on a fulltime basis, forming Alamo Properties Ltd in 2021. Alwyn has undertaken research into new investment areas using tried and tested sourcing strategies supported by the latest property sourcing software to identify attractive acquisitions, invested in industry-recognised property training programs and developed key networks to understand how the best property investors grow profitable portfolios. The company currently (2024) has a portfolio of 10 BTL's and 1 HMO.

ALAMO Properties was formed in 2021 to focus solely on property investment and to complement the directors existing personal property portfolio.

Maureen Ross LLB
Maureen was a practicing conveyancing solicitor for over 25 years before joining Alamo Properties Ltd. on a full time basis in 2022. Whilst she is happy to get her hands dirty, Maureen also focuses on identifying potential investments areas,;some of the key factors considered are population (+80k), identifying those areas within good or excellent school catchment areas, with good transport infrastructure and public transport links, easy access to shops and within 5 miles of the town center. This analysis helps identify focus areas with strong rental demand to minimise voids that will deliver long-term passive income and equity growth. Once an offer is accepted Maureen will review the legal title in-detail to provide independent legal assurance that we are purchasing a property of good title and marketable for use in the lettings market, Independent checks on EPC ratings, presence of gas and electrical safety certificates are also undertaken.
